I am a Geochemist and Professor in the Department of Geology at the University of Chile since 2020. I studied Geology and a Master's degree in Science at this same university. Besides, I was a Fulbright Scholar in 2014 at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY) where I studied my PhD in Geological Sciences working part of my thesis on the island of Hawaii. I was also a fellow of the Make Our Planet Great Again program at the Paris Institute of Physics of the Globe (IPGP) in France as a visiting researcher before returning to Chile.

My research focuses on studying the bio-geochemical reactions that occur on the Earth's surface using numerical models and geochemical tracers to understand the evolution of the Earth System today. This approach allows us to understand the relationships that exist between water, biota, and the minerals that precipitate on the Earth's surface. Singularly, my research uses different geochemical tracers to study the precipitation dynamics of minerals in various environments on the Earth's surface, such as deserts, geothermal systems, and in soils. I also investigate geothermal and volcanic systems as sources of solutes and nutrients in volcanic regions.

I value exchange programs such as Fulbright or Make Our Planet Great Again, which have allowed me to develop very high-level science and share with leading scientists both in the laboratory and on a personal level. The relationships that I have forged during my stays in the USA and in France have allowed me to continue collaborating scientifically and, at the same time, meet and make friends throughout the world.
