I am an Agronomist from the Pontifical Catholic University Chile (2008), and in 2011 I began postgraduate studies at the University of California, Davis (USA). I first got an M.S. (2014) with support from Fulbright, and then a Ph.D. in Horticulture and Agronomy (2019).
In 2019, I returned to Chile and since then, I have been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Production, Faculty of Agronomy of the University of Concepción.
My area of expertise is Postharvest Biology, with an emphasis on the study of the physiological and molecular bases of postharvest disorders of fruits and vegetables. In this field, I am interested in deciphering the mechanisms that determine responses to abiotic stress, and their impacts on quality attributes that contribute to reducing food losses and waste.
For me, the Fulbright program marked a crucial moment in my life, both from a professional as well as a personal perspective, because I was able to study at the University of my dreams, and also to learn and live in a different culture.
