International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP)

The International Visitor Leadership Program is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the Department of State of the Government of the United States of America. Every year it invites professionals from all over the world to the United States to exchange information and experiences with their counterparts in the U.S. Visitors, who are current or potential leaders in government, politics, media, education, the arts, business, and other areas, are selected by the American Foreign Service Officer. Since the creation of the program, in 1961, more than 5,000 visitors have participated, of which more than 200 have been Presidents or Heads of State of their respective countries and more than 1,500 have been members of the Cabinet or Ministers, others distinguished in the private sector, as well.
